A brand new haiku journal

Bones

a journal for new haiku

— a brand new haiku journal, which is seeking for all kind of a haiku style:
“Gendai haiku / New haiku i.e haiku written from, within, for the 21st century and based in/sprung from the haijin's cultural, linguistic and historic reality. Haiku that takes the language seriously enough to be willing to blow it apart from the inside in order to show/discover/reveal new meanings and echoes. Haiku that stands on the firm ground of tradition but has internalized it and is now written for today and the future. Exploitative haiku. Connective haiku. In the West haiku can be fruitfully pollinated by what is called fragmentary poetry/short poetry/micro poetry. We are constantly asking the question: what is haiku in the 21st century and what can it become if it's not to fall in with the carpet and be a neat little thing you do with your left hand and read on get well-cards? ... if it's not to repeat the already repeated stuff. Single haiku & serial haiku. Haiku that dares claim its own language, imagery, space and now. Experiments of every kind. Surreal haiku. Fantastic haiku. Conceptual haiku in both form and content."

W. H. Auden: haiku-like lines | W.H. Auden: wersy haikupodobne

Dwudziestojednoletni Auden w swoim "Miłosnym Liście" ('The Love Letter'):

21-year-old Auden in his The Love Letter:

[...] passed
A solitary truck, the last
Of shunting in the Autumn;[...]

W. H. Auden, The Love letter, 1928

[...] przeminął
Samotny wagon, ostatni
Na bocznicy tej jesieni [...]

W. H. Auden, List miłosny, 1928

she bears no white dress | nie nosi żadnej białej sukni

nie nosi żadnej białej sukni
ale całkiem naga
wciąż czeka
na pierwsze zbliżenie—
moja śmierć

she bears no white dress
but quite naked
she's still wating
for the first relation—
my death

In Poland, Death, or Śmierć, has an appearance similar to the traditional Grim Reaper, but instead of a black robe, Death has a white robe. Also, due to grammar, Death is a female (the word śmierć is of feminine gender), mostly seen as an old skeletal woman [source: Wikipedia]

William Blake - HAIKUISH OR QUASI-HAIKU QUOTES (11) | HAIKOWE LUB PRAWIE HAIKOWE CYTATY (11)

William Blake (1757-1827)

angielski poeta, malarz i mistyk objawia nam haikową wyrocznię:
the English poet, painter and mystic reveals us a haikuish augury:

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And A Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an Hour.

William Blake, Auguries of Innocence | Wyrocznie Niewinności

Zobaczyć świat w ziarenku piasku,
Niebiosa w jednym kwiecie z lasu.
W ściśniętej dłoni zamknąć bezmiar,
W godzinie – nieskończoność czasu.

Auguries of the Innocence | Wróżby niewinności tłum. Zygmunt Kubiak

Forget-me nots and my shadow - another version | Niezapominajki i mój cień - inna wersja

Inna wersja mojego cienia / another version of my shadow:

empty sky–
just my shadow within
forget-me-nots

puste niebo–
tylko mój cień pośród
niezapominajek

After confession... - Shiki Kukai July 2012 | po spowiedzi...

after confession...
a flock of seagulls
shouting at me

(1,4,7) = 18 pts
**I hope they're not saying "Blabbermouth!"
(Mam nadzieję, że nie mówią "Papla!")

po spowiedzi...
stado mew
wrzeszczy na mnie

empty sky—
forget-me-nots turn
my shadow bluer

(1,0,2) = 5 pts

puste niebo—
niezapominajki czynią
mój cień błękitniejszym

puste niebo—
niezapominajki obracają
mój cień w błękit

15th International Kusamakura Haiku Competition 2010

Poniższy post przygotowałem ... półtora roku temu (grudzień 2010).

Jeszcze jeden konkurs haiku został rozstrzygnięty - z dalekiego wschodu powiało znowu optymizmem. W 15th Kusamakura Competition wśród nagrodzonych utworów znajdziemy również i polski akcent: haiku Rafała Zabratyńskiego zdobyło Second Prize.

Grand Prize (Kusamakura Taishou)

otrzymał Jack Galmitz (USA)

Kumamoto ‘City of Artesian Waters’ Haiku Award
(Chikasuitoshi Kumamoto Shou)

odebrał Leony Santoso (Indonezja)

Second Prize (Tokusen)

obdarowano 8 haiku (wyboru dokonał Richard Gilbert)

Third Prize (Nyusen)

dostała się w ręce 20 autorów (4 haiku wybrał Richard Gilbert, 16 - Morio Nishikawa).

Grand Prize (Taishou):

Two light beams shining
where there were once Twin Towers-
my son, my daughter

literalnie:

"[...]

Jack Galmitz’s:

Two columns of light
where there were once Twin Towers–
my son, my daughter

[...]"

Moonlight
the illusion of being
alone

Światło księżyca
iluzja, że jestem
sam

(transl. L.Sz.)

Dla zwolenników "prawdziwego haiku": japoński juror nagrodził (Third Prize) takie oto japońskie haiku:

a small lonely snail
is glad and crying for rain
on a hydragena

Jusuke Fujikawa

dosłownie:

mały samotny ślimak
jest zadowolony i domaga się deszczu
na hortensji

(transl. L. Sz.)

Wyraźna personifikacja i forma 5-7-5 wcale jurorowi (znawca języka
angielskiego, analizował poetykę Natsume Sōseki w jego wierszach w j. ang.)
nie przeszkadzała.

A nawet je docenił.

rope bridge | sznurowy most

rope bridge
the chasm
bearing its shadow

(0,1,3) = 5 pts

Comments:
Fragility of the bridge borne by it's shadow.
Nice word pun using 'bearing'' the weight of the shadow.

Shiki Kukai April 2007
Free Format Theme: Bridge

Wersje polskie:

sznurowy most
przepaść
dźwiga jego cień

sznurowy most
przepaść
rodzi jego cień

after divorce court | po rozwodzie

after divorce court
she hums on the freeway:
california dreamin'

(0,2,1) = 5 pts
Comment: The wittiest and, I'd say, the deepest of the "song title" entries.

The Shiki Monthly Kukai: March 2007 - Free Format Theme: Song

Polska wersja (dużo gorsza):

po rozwodzie
ona nuci po drodze:
california dreamin'
