Haiku powstało podczas Międzynarodowego Festiwalu Haiku w Gandawie (wrzesień 2010), a dokładniej: w czasie przejażdżki łodzią po rzece Leie.

Haiku wszystkich uczestników festiwalu zostały opublikowane w po-festiwalowej antologii Zilvervisje glimt | Silver fry flicker (Srebrna rybka lśni).
All festival participants' haiku were published in a post-festival anthology Zilvervisje glimt | Silver fry flicker (Uitgave Viadagio, 2010).
The title of the anthology was taken from the first line of haiku by the Belgian writer and literary critic August Vermeylen.
