Organizatorzy 66. Haiku Basho Festival nagrodzili autorów zwycięskich haiku takimi oto dyplomami:

The authors of awarded haiku have been given such certificates of merit as tokens of the Festival by the Organizers of the 66th Haiku Basho Festival:

Ku mojemu zaskoczeniu, w liście wystosowanym przez Basho Memorial Museum zostałem poinformowany, że  moje "śnieżne" haiku zostało wybrane do antologii haiku, która zostanie wydana  w Japonii. (I niech tak zostanie. :-))

Jestem więc "delikatnie wzruszony" otrzymawszy taką wiadomość -  to wyjątkowy prezent!

Much to my surprise, in the letter from Basho Memorial Museum I was announced that my "snowy" haiku was selected for the Haiku Anthology, which will be published in Japan.

So I am "so soft moved" having  received this message -  cause it is a special gift!

The 13th Haiku Contest HIA 2011 winners is already settled.

W Nie-Japońskiej Kategorii dwóch jurorów dokonało własnej selekcji, w której wśród nagrodzonych haiku nie zabrakło silnego akcentu z Polski autorstwa Ireny Szewczyk i Grzegorza Sionkowskiego.

In the non-Japanese section both judges made their own selection, in which there wasn't a lack of a strong accent from Poland - the voice of Irena Szewczyk and Grzegorz Sionkowski.

Zestawienie gondoli z pieśnią wydawać by się mogło zbyt oczywiste, co więcej, nastroju wynurzającego się z powyższego haiku nie jest w stanie pochłonąć żadna mgła. Wenecja, przejażdżka łodzią - wypisz, wymaluj: autoportet romantyczności.

A jednak trójwers ten nie pozwala siebie zignorować.
To przykład haiku, które domaga się dalszej gry z czytelnikiem. Nie możemy poprzestać na zwykłym "aha". Musimy siegnąć po niewyrażone.

Bez końca  można czytać to haiku i nigdy nie dowiemy się, dlaczego nastąpił koniec gondoliery. Ale i bez "końca" nie zaistniałoby to haiku jako wiersz godny takiej nagrody. To właśnie kontrast między 'wynurzaniem się' a 'zakończeniem' powoduje poetyckie napięcie. Buduje mglistą tajemniczość.

Co spowodowało koniec pieśni? Czyżby pieśń zakończyła się właśnie w momencie, gdy gondola wynurzyła się z mgły? A może 'koniec pieśni' jest metaforą powrotu do codzienności? Romantyczna przejażdżka jest jedynie wdzięcznym przerywnikiem?
Czy wszystko to, co spowite mgiełką tajemniczości w chwili ujawnienia się, staje się "końcem pieśni"?

Użycie 'canto' zamiast 'song', a co za tym idzie, uzyskanie podobieństwa do dźwieków w "gondola' i 'end' jest bardzo udanym zabiegiem 'muzycznym'.
Pieśń tego haiku nadal trwa.
